La Calera Ecuador

La Calera is a small village inhabited primarily by a local indigenous tribe, the Quechua.  The town of Cotacachi Ecuador is surrounded by small villages like these, and is what gives the town its sense of culture and family.

We have met several families from this village, and consider a couple of the families friends.  Gina and I and the kids have spent some time in La Calera and I had a bunch of photos of the kids from both families.

I put together a short video of the kids playing together…and a few of the adults thrown in.  Their kids don’t speak English and our kids don’t speak Spanish, but they find ways of communicating and they always have fun together.

Our friendship is just one of the many things that make living in Cotacachi so special.  Hope you enjoy the video.
